Rainforests have been called the creators of life because they are home to 50-90% of the species on Earth. Worldwide, several hundred million forest-living people live in or depend on rainforests. Many of the world’s important food crops and domestic animals have been developed from rainforest species. Rainforests are normally the main source of all human life for example we get palm oil from rainforest locations. We also destroy hundreds of acres just to make more room to live on. Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall, with annual rainfall between 250 and 450 centimetres.
